•  The BPM is known as Branch Post Master. 
•  In every village, there will have a branch of the Post Office known as the Gramin Dak Seva.
• The job profile of the Branch Post Master will have administer the working of the respective branch. 
• If the Gram Panchayat will have more than one village, then in that village the Indian postal will appoint the MD, MC, and Packers post. The number of aspirants will be selected based on a number of villages. 
• The BPM should be made sure that you will open a maximum number of accounts in your branch.
• The BPM can take the help of MD, and should promote Government Schemes like Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, etc. and P.L.I. or Postal Life Insurance Policies.
• The BPM should also take responsibility for book register posts, speed posts, MO’s (Money Orders), parcels etc.
• The BPM is basically considered as the head of the Branch.

MD Post – Gramin Dak Sevak Work Profile

• MD Means Mail Deliverer
• The work nature of the Mail Deliver or GDS MD is to assist the BPM or Branch Post Master.
• The BPM will give certain targets to complete within a certain time.
• The mail delivers need to help the villagers regarding the opening of Savings Accounts in your branch and telling them government schemes provided by them.
• The MD post comes under MTS i.e. Multi Tasking Staff.
• The Mail Deliverer should also collect Mail from the Head Office/Sub Office and Deliver it to your respective Branch.
• If the MC is on leave, the MD- Mail Deliverer should have to Deliver the mail in the village.

MC Post – Gramin Dak Sevak Work Profile

• MC – Mail carrier.
• The main job of Mail Carrier is to carry the mail from the branch and deliver it to the particular address of the village.
• The Mail Carrier post will look like a Post-Man. But it came under MTS, i.e. Multi Tasking Staff, they need to assist the BPM & MD in the smooth functioning of their Branch.
