Eligibility for UGC NTA Application Form 2025

Educational Qualifications:-

The aspirants qualified for a Masters’s Degree with 55% of aggregate marks or its equivalent in the listed subjects from any of the recognized universities are eligible for applying for the exam. Candidates of SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD can get 50% of the marks for applying.

The aspirants pursuing the Degree final year can also be eligible to apply. But they have to complete their masters till they got appointed to the post.

Age Limit:-

• For the Junior Research Fellowship, applicants must be 28 years of age.
• Five years of age relaxation in the upper age limit is there for the OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PWD category candidates.
• The applicants who are doing their master’s degree will get 3 years of age relaxation.
• For the post of Assistant Professor upper age limit is not applicable.

Application Fee:-

• General Category applicants should pay Rs.1100/- as their application fee.
• Candidates of the OBC category need to pay Rs.550/- as their fee for applications.
• The applicants of the SC/ST/PWD category need to deposit Rs.275/- as their application fee.
• Candidates have to pay this application fee using credit/debit cards by online payment.
• The fee can be paid at any of the following banks Canara/ICICI/ Syndicate /HDFC bank.

The candidates have to visit the NTA website to apply for the exam after meeting all the eligibilities. Only online mode of applications is accepted.
